The mission of the RMHC Teen Board is to create awareness amongst their peers of the local Ronald McDonald House Charities Chapter and the programs it supports in the community, while also learning how a non-profit organization works, including a board of directors.
There are currently over 50 students representing 15 local schools. The RMHC Teen Board organizes several fundraisers and community outreach projects throughout the year. Their goal is to raise $10,000.00 for the charity. Last year they exceeded their goal! This year’s RMHC Teen Board kicked off their year at the 2011 Sunburst Marathon. Students participated on Friday at the Sunburst Expo sharing how the Charity benefits our local community with the Ronald McDonald Family Room. On Saturday, the students assisted runners at the finish line by handing out water and Gatorade. They are planning several events for 2011 including car washes, Port-a-Pit chicken sales, the IUSB Holiday Concert to raise teddy bears for Memorial Hospital’s NICU families, a “family fun day” during the winter and MORE!
