The purpose of the Red Shoe Crew is to bring together young professionals who are dedicated to supporting the ongoing and increasing fundraising and volunteer needs of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana (RMHC). Members of the group benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana through various opportunities such, including:
Volunteering
-Assisting with key Red Shoe Crew events throughout the year
-Participating in fundraising events held for the charity
-Working with corporate partners to acquire sponsorships and auction items
-Supporting the children and families who stay at the Ronald McDonald Family Roomat Memorial Hospital through volunteering their time in the Family Room, cooking meals, donating wish list items or other charitable contributions.
Networking
-Throughout the year, Red Shoe Crew members connect with other young professionals interested in community service and career networking. A variety of members are encouraged to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House Family Room. While there, they can network with a volunteer base with varied ages, backgrounds, and careers. Finally, Red Shoe Crew membership provides the opportunity to interact with the charity’s Board of Trustees, whose members are some of the finest community leaders in Michiana.
Leading and Mentoring
-There a number of leadership opportunities within the Red Shoe Crew. Members can serve as one of the Crew’s elected leaders, coordinate volunteers as an activity team leader, or chair one of the organization’s various social and fundraising events. Also, Crew members may participate in the charity’s committees and work groups. Finally, participating in the Red Shoe Crew prepares young professionals for membership on a nonprofit or philanthropic board.
Who Can Join?
Membership is FREE to any young professional who is interested in assisting families with seriously ill children. Members are encouraged to participate on one of the Red Shoe Crew committees and attend at least one RHMC event during the year.
How to Get Involved
Joining the Red Shoe Crew is as simple as attending one of the Crew’s monthly meetings where you will learn about the charity and determine how you would like to contribute to the Crew’s various committees.
